Guiding you through your compensation claim

Suffering a personal injury can be an extremely traumatic experience. It can damage both your health and finances. We can help you gain access to justice if someone else is at fault.

Step 1 – How to make an injury compensation claim

The first step through this stressful time is to contact Accident Line. We can then start the ball rolling in your compensation claim, by putting you in contact with a specialist local solicitor. Alternatively, you can use our postcode search to find your local specialist solicitor and contact them directly. The various ways for you to get in touch with a local specialist solicitor are:

  • Go to Injury Solicitors near you and retrieve the details of your local injury specialist
  • You can call us FREE on 0800 19 29 39
  • Go to MAKE A CLAIM and complete an online enquiry form

Your details will be passed to a local specialist solicitor who will then contact you directly to arrange a FREE initial interview which is obligation FREE, to determine whether or not you have a case.

As our specialists are always local, this gives you the opportunity to meet face to face with the person dealing with your claim and gives you a more personal service. This is important as you probably have never had to make a claim for compensation previously and it can be a very worrying time.

Once you are in contact with a specialist local solicitor, they will help you through your compensation claim and walk you through the process from start to finish. Our specialist solicitors are experienced in all types of injury claims, from being in a car crash or injured at work, right the way through to occupational disease and abuse cases.

Your solicitor will deal with the claim until conclusion and will advise you on all aspects of your case, from how long it is likely to take, to what information could be needed.

Step 2 – ‘No win, No fee’ and alternative funding

Our specialist local solicitors will always offer you a FREE initial consultation to determine whether or not you have a good case and will advise on how best to fund the legal costs.  If your claim proceeds and you have no other suitable funding, the solicitor will offer a no win no fee agreement. This will give peace of mind about the possibility of having to pay for their fees.

A ‘No win, no fee’ agreement is often called a Conditional Fee Agreement, or CFA. In personal injury cases, this is the term used where a solicitor agrees not to charge a fee if a case is lost. There will usually be a 'success fee' where the solicitor can charge an additional amount above their usual fees if the case is won, in exchange for taking the risk that they will not be paid if the case is lost. The success fee is normally paid by the opponent.
